Johanci De Castro Lobo (née Meintjes) (“Jo”)

I am a Tax and Fiduciary Specialist and Head of Technical Advice at Investec Wealth & Investment International, with over nine years’ experience advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. I lead the technical strategy and governance of all tax and fiduciary advice, while managing a portfolio of complex private clients.

I hold a BCom (Law) and LLB from Stellenbosch University and am an admitted attorney and registered tax practitioner. I began my career in corporate and commercial litigation before specialising in international fiduciary and cross-border tax structuring at a multinational trust company whereafter I joined Investec in 2019.

My expertise spans domestic and cross-border tax, exchange control, estate and succession planning, and trust structuring. I am also involved in product development, market expansion strategies, and initiatives to enhance tax efficiency across investment platforms.

I’ve been a speaker at Tax Indaba and have published articles in Tax Talk and Without Prejudice. I hold a Certificate in Estate and Trust Administration (Tax Faculty) and an Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients (CLT International).

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.
