I am responsible for working with clients and their advisers to create investment portfolios to suit their individual requirements. This covers private wealth structures ranging from pension and retirement assets to offshore bonds, family trusts and investment companies. Portfolios are constructed using a range of assets making use of available internal and external research. As a member of the Equity Collective Fund Selection Committee, I optimise using this to enhance the portfolio solutions I create. Working closely with clients to determine the investment objective and risk approach is key, not just at the start of the journey, but at various junctions along the way.
Having been interested in investments during school I studied Banking & Finance at Cardiff University and then went on to a postgraduate study at Birmingham University, obtaining an MSc in Investments. I entered the wealth management sector joining the graduate scheme at Gerrard Investment Management (part of Barclays) and later moving to Williams de Broë where I worked in both the Birmingham and London offices, gaining experience in portfolio construction. In addition to the qualification taken to become a Chartered Wealth Manager I have studied derivative qualifications adding to my understanding gained at university. This has helped when investing into structured products on behalf of clients.
I enjoy playing golf and since joining a club I have set myself a target for my handicap, which I am making small steps towards. Although I don't play rugby anymore I enjoy supporting Leicester Tigers and also occasionally attend Worcester Warriors which is closer to home. I have a young son and the highlight of the weekend is our swimming lesson together.
