Our role

Investec Aviation Finance acted as Structuring Agent, Mandated Lead Arranger and Lender on a bespoke financing for four Airbus A330-300 aircraft on lease to a global airline, managed by aviation specialist EirTrade. The transaction supports Acorn Capital Management’s strategy of investing in mid- and end-of-life aircraft assets and demonstrates Investec’s ability to innovate with asset-centric structures such as part-out financing — an approach that provides enhanced flexibility and efficient execution in niche segments of the aviation market.

Lukasz Laski of Investec Aviation Finance said: “Our aviation market research highlights strong passenger demand coupled with delivery backlogs, driving renewed interest in mid- and end-of-life aircraft. We were pleased to leverage our deep technical asset expertise to structure a financing that responds to this dynamic opportunity.” He added: “Investec’s part-out financing solution delivered the flexibility and speed required, offering a one-stop service and ensuring alignment of client expectations throughout the process.”

Justin Chung, Head of Alternative Credit Strategies at Acorn, commented: “We’re pleased to partner with Investec on this strategic financing. Their deep understanding of the aviation sector and collaborative approach were crucial in navigating the complexities of financing end-of-life aircraft and enabling informed decisions that enhance our operational capabilities.”

Lee Carey, Chief Investment Officer of EirTrade Aviation, remarked: “Working with Investec has been instrumental in providing vital financing. Their expertise and partnership approach were key in supporting our efforts to address challenges in this important market.”
