Our role

Investec Direct Lending has provided senior financing to support Beech Tree Private Equity (BTPE) with their investment in Sustainable Energy First. In order to support the company with additional firepower to execute on M&A plans, Investec has also provided substantial acquisition facilities.

Investec was able to move quickly to meet a challenging M&A timeline, delivering a bespoke, flexible financing solution as sole lender. Direct Lending are delighted to be able to support BTPE on a second transaction, following the recapitalisation of Learnlight in 2022.

About Sustainable Energy First

Established in 1997, Sustainable Energy First is a leading UK energy and sustainability service provider. The Company predominantly serves large corporates, providing specialist advisory services to customers with large, multi-site estates and complex sustainability and energy needs. SEF is a B Corp and is focused on reducing the carbon footprint of its clients which account for 3.5% of UK business power consumption.
