Our acceptance to the UK Stewardship Code
In light of this, we are delighted to announce that we have been accepted as one of the first signatories to the revised UK Stewardship Code, which sets the standards for investing on behalf of UK savers and pensioners.
The Code is a set of principles that focuses on how we engage with investee companies and how we incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into our investment process to protect our clients’ long-term interests and deliver a positive impact on the world around us.
Our obligation to our clients
Our clients trust us to do many things. They trust us to invest in companies with the best long-term prospects, which we believe tend to be those that operate in harmony with the environment and society. They trust us to use our influence with those companies to call for progress and demand measurement of concrete sustainability goals. They trust us to set an example within the financial services industry and lead it in the right direction.
In a recent survey, 86% of our Client Council members insisted that financial services should promote sustainable activities. When presented with the statement that “the financial services industry cannot make a difference”, eighty per cent of those members disagreed.
Our sustainability journey
This achievement showcases our commitment to our shared cause and belief in responsible investing, as we continue to strive for improvement in these areas. It is something that we have been working towards for some time and see as a milestone for the business.
