In line with recognized International Practice and for the information of customers and others who visit the Bank’s website we believe it is necessary to post a privacy policy statement in line with section 51 of the Banking Act 2004 of Mauritius (“Banking Act”). The information shared with the Bank will be treated as strictly private. We also wish to drawn attention explicitly that adequate precautions have been taken to protect information relating to customers and their dealings with the Bank from the mischievous and the fraudsters.
Customer confidentialit’y and privacy is of utmost concern to Investec Bank (Mauritius) Limited. Our employees treat the information we have concerning your accounts in the same responsible and confidential way, subject to disclosure under the compulsion of the law, that we want our own financial affairs treated.

Subject to written authorisation of the Data Protection Commissioner and/or other relevant provisions of the data protection laws applicable from time to time, personal information may be sent to other countries, whose data protection laws may not be as extensive as in Mauritius or the SADC (Southern African Development Community) region. However, we have taken appropriate steps to ensure the same level of protection for the processing carried out in Mauritius.
4. How to get copies of or amend the information we have collected
It is in your interest, and it is our objective, for us to have accurate, current, and complete information concerning you. You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 2004 as amended. A small fee will be payable. complied with in accordance with the relevant provisions of the data protection laws applicable from time to time.
