About me
My priority is to help my clients achieve their investment goals by understanding their current position, requirements and financial objectives, in order to help them build a bespoke Investment Portfolio which suits their present and future needs. While I am based in our Edinburgh Office, I have clients across the whole of the UK and travel widely to ensure strong client relationships built on mutual trust. I mostly specialise in providing investment advice for the older generation via SIPP's, ISA's, taxable and offshore bond portfolio's, and manage a diverse range of trust's on behalf of many families. In addition, I also provide bespoke charity portfolio management to trustees across the UK. To ensure the best possible outcome for my clients I work closely with financial planners and utilise Investec’s own in-house research team to identify suitable investment solutions, matching clients’ risk profiles and objectives to investment portfolios that will deliver for them over the years.
Background/Experience
After beginning my career with Bank of Scotland in 1997, I joined their portfolio management department in 2001. I moved to Investec in 2009 with a number of my colleagues and we retain the team-based ethos for clients which has served us well for many decades. I’m a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) and a Chartered Wealth Manager, as well as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland. In addition, I hold the Investment Management Certificate and the CISI Statement of Professional Standing under the Financial Conduct Authority's Retail Distribution Review. All of this provides me with a rounded knowledge to ensure I achieve the best outcomes for clients.
My interests
I have had a passion for the stock market from an early age and I can often be found researching small AIM oil and gas shares at the weekend. I also enjoy reading crime fiction and spending time with my niece and nephews. My strongest pleasure is enjoying great food and wine across the globe and I have dined in some of the best restaurants in the world.
