I manage a wide range of bespoke, multicurrency portfolios for ultra-high-net-worth, globally minded clients including portfolios in their personal names, trusts, companies or pensions. I have a particular focus on South African clients, whom I visit regularly, but I also manage a number of UK-based clients, particularly those with a global outlook. My over-riding priority is to always act in my clients’ best interests, helping them to achieve their financial goals through a deep understanding of their current circumstances, requirements, financial objectives and aspirations.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree from the University of Cape Town, I qualified as a Chartered Accountant and trained at Arthur Andersen & Co in Cape Town before moving to the UK in 1988, where I joined the audit division of Deloitte & Touche, Chartered Accountants. Thereafter, I was appointed as a director of Trident Trust Company (UK) Limited, where my responsibilities included providing personalised consulting services to settlors and beneficiaries of offshore structures in respect of their structuring, investment and other financial requirements. Since joining Investec in London in 2000, I have contributed to the establishment of the wealth management division. Over this time, I have built up many longstanding relationships with my clients looking after their investment requirements. I am also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Having grown up in South Africa, I am naturally sports mad. I have a passion for Arsenal and the Springboks and have a strong interest in most other sports. I enjoy travel, music and do a mean braai (barbeque).
