It was actually back in 2000 that we originally started working with our current Investment Manager. He’d transferred to an office in our local town, where my husband and I were both doctors. At that time, we’d been searching for an open discussion on retirement, in particular with regard to our pension lump sums and inherited investments.
We were immediately struck by his practical, yet friendly approach to the business of looking after our financial affairs. He was determined to take the necessary time to familiarise himself with our individual family dynamics and long-term needs. With that knowledge, he was then able to advise us when we wanted to help our children with their own house purchases and other large expenses.
