Investec named #1 UK Small & Mid-Cap Broker for fourth consecutive year

Investec Bank plc, a leading international bank and wealth manager, today announces that it has been named #1 UK Small & Mid-Cap Broker in the Extel UK Small & Mid-Cap Brokers Survey 2026. This is the fourth consecutive year that Investec has achieved the top overall ranking, reinforcing its position in the UK small and mid-cap market.
Investec was also ranked #1 overall for UK SMID research and #1 overall for UK SMID sales. It ranked #3 in UK corporate broking and #3 in UK corporate access.
Investec’s research teams achieved top-three rankings across seven of the nine industry categories. The business ranked first in four sectors: Construction & Building Materials, Consumer & Retail, Support Services and Technology. Construction & Building Materials and Support Services both moved from third place in 2025 to first place in 2026.
Nine Investec research analysts were ranked in the top three in their sectors: Aynsley Lammin, Julian Yates, Kate Calvert, Michael Donnelly, Alastair Reid, Andrew Whitney, Ben Bourne, Roger Phillips and Scott Cagehin. Investec’s sales team also delivered a strong performance, with Luke Ahern, Adam Bidwell and Polly Wilson ranked among the top five salespeople overall.
