Investec advises BESA on Bowmark Capital’s investment in SFG20
- Bowmark Capital becomes a significant shareholder in SFG20 alongside BESA
- Partnership will support continued investment in SFG20’s data, software and AI capabilities
London, 2 October 2026: Investec, a leading international bank and wealth manager, today announces that its M&A Advisory team has acted as exclusive financial adviser to SFG20 and the Building Engineering Services Association (“BESA”) on Bowmark Capital’s (“Bowmark”) investment in SFG20.
Bowmark becomes a significant shareholder in SFG20, the UK industry standard for building maintenance specification, alongside BESA.
Established by BESA in 1990, SFG20 provides customisable maintenance guidance through its cutting-edge software platform to facilities managers, building owners, contractors and consultants, helping them keep their assets safe, compliant, and operating efficiently. SFG20’s proprietary database contains more than 1,500 maintenance schedules covering more than 14,000 legislation aligned tasks. Trusted by more than 1,000 industry participants, it is used to plan, deliver and audit asset maintenance. In recent years, SFG20 has invested significantly in the digitisation of its offering. In 2024, it launched its cloud-based software platform, Facilities-iQ, followed in 2025 by SFG20 Mobiliser, an AI-powered module that maps customers' asset registers to the relevant maintenance schedules.
Bowmark’s partnership with SFG20 will support continued investment in the company’s data, software and AI capabilities, as well as the development of new products, and expansion into adjacent segments of the construction market and internationally.
Sebastian Lawrence, Managing Director, M&A Advisory, at Investec, commented: “SFG20 and BESA have built a unique software and data platform that plays a critical role in ensuring compliance across the built environment.
