Investec grows UK Corporate Banking with new Client Relationship Management Head

  • Terry Koizou joins Investec as Head of Client Relationship Management, UK Corporate Banking
  • Terry joins recent hires Simon Jacobs and Dean Sullivan as Investec strengthens the leadership team of its UK Corporate Banking business
  • Appointment supports the build-out of a dedicated mid-market client relationship team expected to grow to over 40 relationship managers
  • Investec is building a highly personalised, relationship-led service to support entrepreneurial UK mid-market businesses throughout their lifecycle

Investec Bank plc, a leading international bank and wealth manager, today announces the appointment of Terry Koizou as Head of Client Relationship Management in its UK Corporate Banking business. He joins as the bank accelerates the growth of its UK Corporate Banking business and builds a more personal, specialist and relationship-led service for ambitious mid-market businesses throughout their lifecycle.

The appointment supports Investec’s wider UK strategy to deliver a more personal and specialist banking service to mid-market clients, built around dedicated regional and industry-focused relationship managers who understand the banking needs of entrepreneurial businesses as they evolve. Those close client relationships will be supported by intuitive digital tools designed to enhance, not replace, the personal service at the heart of the partnership proposition. In November, Investec announced that it aims to provide relationship banking to 1,000 mid-market businesses across the UK by FY2030, in a market of more than 60,000 companies, which often feel underserved by their existing banks.

Terry will lead the development of Investec’s Client Relationship Management capability as the bank builds a team that is expected to grow to over 40 relationship managers over time. His role is to help create deep, long-term client relationships and deliver tailored financial solutions by bringing together relevant expertise from across the bank.

He joins Simon Jacobs, who joined in September as Chief Operating Officer to help deliver a personal, high-touch service experience and seamless onboarding for mid-market clients, and Dean Sullivan, who joined in June as Head of Credit and Risk to lead Investec’s credit strategy and risk appetite for mid-market clients. Together, these appointments strengthen the leadership team of Investec’s UK Corporate Banking business as it scales its proposition in support of its growth objectives.

Andy Hart, Head of Corporate Banking at Investec Bank plc, said:

“Terry’s appointment is an important step as we accelerate the growth of our corporate banking business in the UK. We are building something genuinely differentiated: corporate banking that feels like private banking. That means a highly personalised service that combines specialist banking capability with the kind of close, trusted relationships ambitious mid-market businesses often struggle to find.

“Terry’s appointment, alongside Simon Jacobs and Dean Sullivan, further strengthens the leadership team we are putting in place to support our growth objectives in UK Corporate Banking. These businesses face important decisions throughout their lifecycle - from managing cash flow and protecting against risk to refinancing, investing for growth and realising value. They want a banking partner that understands their world, stays close to them and helps them move forward with clarity and confidence.”

Before joining Investec, Terry held senior roles at Citi Commercial Bank, where he led the Business & Professional Services and Non-Bank Financial Institutions client coverage teams across the UK. He has more than 20 years of banking and finance experience, including more than 17 years in commercial and corporate banking.

Terry Koizou, Head of Client Relationship Management, UK Corporate Banking at Investec, said:

“There is a real opportunity to serve ambitious mid-market businesses with a more personal and specialist approach. At different points in their lifecycle, these businesses face complex decisions around funding, cash flow, risk, strategic investment and long-term value, and they need a banking partner that understands those challenges and can bring the right expertise to bear at the right time.

“What makes this opportunity so compelling is the chance to build a relationship-led service that is highly personalised and genuinely useful to clients. My focus will be on building a high-performing relationship management team designed to spend more time adding value for clients, staying close to their businesses and helping them realise their growth ambitions.”

Investec Corporate Banking provides bespoke financial solutions to entrepreneurial mid-market businesses, spanning lending, treasury and risk solutions and broader advisory support. Its proposition brings together specialist expertise with a highly personalised relationship model, helping clients manage day-to-day needs, navigate complexity and make confident decisions at every stage of their lifecycle.
