Investec appoints David Monks and strengthens leadership capacity in Jersey

  • David Monks joins Investec Asset Finance (Channel Islands) Limited (IAFCI) as Senior Relationship Manager in Jersey
  • FJ Eigelaar leads the business as Managing Director, with Robin Clayton moving into a part-time Executive role supporting business growth

Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited today announces the appointment of David Monks as Senior Relationship Manager in Jersey for Investec Asset Finance (Channel Islands) Limited (IAFCI), supporting the continued growth of Investec’s asset finance offering across the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

David is a Jersey resident and brings more than 20 years of experience in lending. He most recently led Black Horse’s offices in Jersey and Guernsey, building long standing relationships with businesses across the islands. At Investec, David will work with corporate clients to understand what they need to fund and help structure asset finance that supports both day-to-day requirements and longer-term growth plans.

FJ Eigelaar, Managing Director of IAFCI, said: “David’s appointment reinforces our commitment to helping clients in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man with their asset finance needs. He brings deep local knowledge and the ability to build long-term relationships. We support both individuals and businesses, and David strengthens our capability to deliver funding that is practical, responsive and tailored to what clients are trying to achieve.”

IAFCI provides flexible funding so clients can invest in the assets they need while keeping cash available for other priorities. For businesses, this can include funding for equipment, technology and office improvements, as well as specialist requirements such as insurance premium finance. For individuals and corporate clients with more bespoke needs, IAFCI also provides funding for marine and aviation assets, with facilities available in sterling, euros and US dollars. The team takes a tailored approach, working closely with clients and their advisers to structure funding around the asset and the client’s circumstances.

Alongside David’s appointment, and as a result of FJ Eigelaar being announced as Managing Director for Investec’s Asset Finance business in the Channel Islands, Robin Clayton has moved into a part-time Executive role focused on supporting business growth. Robin established the asset finance business in the Channel Islands and will continue to work with the team on business development and commercial opportunities across the islands.

Robin Clayton, Advisor to IAFCI, said: “I am proud of what we have built in the Channel Islands and I am pleased to continue supporting the team as the business grows. With FJ leading the business and David strengthening our coverage in Jersey, we are well-placed to keep delivering a responsive, relationship-led service for clients across the islands.”

Investec Asset Finance (Channel Islands) Limited has operated in the Crown Dependencies since April 2017, with teams in Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man. Investec has been present in the Channel Islands for more than 25 years, supporting clients with private banking, tailored lending and specialist finance. Investec continues to invest in its local teams, including recent senior appointments in Jersey’s Private Client business, with Rob Duarte joining as High Net Worth Private Client Business Developer and Alex Macaione appointed as a Relationship Manager, working alongside Relationship Manager Susie Ryan as part of the Private Clients team led by Emily Dawson, Head of Private Clients.
