Investec (Channel Islands) appoints Michelle Ryan as Independent Non-Executive
- More than 18 years’ experience in private banking across Jersey and London
- Founder of sustainability consultancy True and Non-Executive Director of Jersey Finance
- Appointment reflects continued investment in Channel Islands
Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited (“IBCI”) has appointed Michelle Ryan as an Independent Non-Executive Director (NED), effective April 2026. Michelle succeeds Sandra Platts, who is stepping down after thirteen years on the Investec Channel Islands Board.
Michelle brings more than 18 years’ experience in private banking, built through senior roles in Jersey and London. A Jersey resident, Michelle has built her career in the islands as well as in London, developing deep technical expertise, long-standing client relationships and a strong understanding of the local financial services environment.
Alongside her banking career, Michelle founded True, a sustainability consultancy established in 2020. As Director and Chief Sustainability Officer, she works with corporate clients to support long-term, sustainable business strategies. Michelle will remain a director of True and will continue as a Non-Executive Director of Jersey Finance alongside her appointment at Investec.
Kevin McKenna, Chairman of Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Michelle to the Investec Channel Islands Board. Michelle brings deep private banking expertise and a strong understanding of Jersey’s financial services sector. Her appointment reflects the importance of our Jersey office within our wider Channel Islands strategy and our continued focus on building leadership based on the islands.
“I would also like to thank Sandra for her thirteen years of service to the Investec Channel Islands Board. Sandra has made a significant contribution to the Bank and has been a strong supporter of the development of our people, helping to build capability and talent across the business.”
Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited has operated in the Channel Islands for more than 25 years, providing private banking and tailored lending solutions to high-net-worth individuals, family offices, trustees and regulated intermediaries across Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.
Investec continues to invest and grow its presence across the Channel Islands. In Jersey, the bank has recently strengthened its Private Client team with senior appointments, including the appointment of Rob Duarte as High-Net-Worth Private Client Business Developer, alongside the internal appointment of Alex Macaione as a Relationship Manager. Alex joins Relationship Manager Susie Ryan, strengthening day-to-day relationship coverage for clients in Jersey.
Investec has also continued to build its specialist finance capability in the islands through Investec Asset Finance (Channel Islands) Limited. The team has recently been strengthened with the appointment of David Monks as Senior Relationship Manager in Jersey, supporting corporate clients across the islands.
This momentum has been reflected in recent external recognition. In January 2026, Emily Dawson, Head of Private Clients, was named Private Banker of the Year, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, at the Citywealth International Financial Centres Awards. This followed Investec being recognised as Overall Private Bank at the WealthBriefing Channel Islands Awards in December 2025.
