Investec expands international advisory business into Switzerland

Investec Bank plc (“Investec”), a leading international financial services provider, today announces that it has increased its shareholding in the Swiss M&A advisory business, Capitalmind AG, to a majority position.  The business has been rebranded as Investec and successfully integrated into Investec’s broader advisory business in Europe.

This acquisition follows Investec’s acquisition in 2023 of the former Capitalmind businesses in Benelux, France, Germany and the Nordics and underscores Investec’s commitment to expanding its advisory business in the major European geographies.

In the first half of 2025, Investec M&A team completed 34 transactions across Europe, with a total value of €11.5 billion, 41% of which were cross-border.

Investec has a strong and growing presence in M&A and Corporate Advisory across key international territories. The firm’s focus areas within European M&A Advisory include business services, consumer goods, financial services, food & agriculture, healthcare, industrials, infrastructure, and TMT.

This acquisition complements and further strengthens the growth of Investec’s integrated offering in Switzerland, which includes private banking, wealth management and direct lending. Investec is based in Zurich and has maintained a presence in Switzerland since 1978.
