Investec Bank plc (“Investec”) has been named #1 broker as it achieves its best ever results in the 2023 annual Institutional Investor (II) UK Small & MidCap Survey.

It also ranked #1 in all the primary categories: research, sales, corporate broking, and corporate access.

The quality of its research was recognised with #1 rankings across 9 sectors, including capital goods, consumer goods, healthcare, leisure & gambling, media, retail, support services, technology, and utilities & clean energy. Across the remaining 5 sectors in which the bank is active, it placed within the top 3.

Eight of Investec’s analysts placed top in their sectors while an additional 7 ranked in the top 3. Five of the bank’s equities sales team were ranked in the top 10 for that category, placing #1, #3, #4, #5 and #7.

The II’s 49th annual ranking of European brokers is the only independent survey in the UK SMID market, therefore providing the benchmark for the quality of service being provided by brokers and banks. It is based on votes from 233 asset management firms.
