Investec strengthens Research team with senior appointment

Investec Bank plc, a leading international financial services provider, today announces the appointment of Piers Brown as Senior Analyst, Financials within its Research team. Based in London, Piers will focus on coverage of the European financials sector, bringing deep expertise across bank analysis, valuation and regulatory frameworks.

Piers joins Investec with 30 years’ experience in the financials sector, having held senior research and investment roles at HSBC, Macquarie, JPMorgan Cazenove, UBS and Commerzbank. Most recently, he was European Banks Analyst within HSBC Global Research, responsible for coverage of major continental institutions. Prior to this, he served as Managing Director for European Financials Research at Macquarie, leading coverage of global investment banks and large-cap European names.

The team has recently completed a number of significant transactions in the sector, including the £225 million recommended offer for Aquis Exchange PLC by SIX Exchange Group AG (Joint Financial Adviser, NOMAD & Joint Broker) and the £66 million recommended offer for The International Stock Exchange by Miami Holdings (Sole Financial Adviser).
