Investec supports ReGEN finance its first on-lease aircraft

Investec Bank plc (‘Investec’ or ‘the Bank’), a leading international financial services provider, today announced that the Investec Aviation Finance team has financed its first transaction with ReGEN, a business unit of global commercial aircraft lessor Genesis.

The facility enabled ReGEN's acquisition of its first on-lease aircraft, an IAE powered Airbus A319-100 aircraft on lease to British Airways.

Joseph Barnwell of Investec Aviation Finance said: “We’re delighted to work with ReGEN and help finance their first aircraft, leased to British Airways. Given our in-house technical capabilities and the short loan tenor, we were able to have strong visibility of expected EOL compensation, and as such were comfortable lending at above 100% LTV on day one.”

John Kelly, Senior Vice President at Genesis, added: "We truly appreciate the hard work and dedication of the team at Investec who have supported us throughout the course of this transaction. They understood the unique value the ReGEN platform can extract from aviation assets. We look forward to expanding our relationship with them in the near future.”

The Investec Aviation Finance team operates across the UK, South Africa, the US, Singapore and Dublin, with recent deals including a $90m of senior debt financing for Atlas Air, a leading provider of outsourced aircraft and aviation operating services and the largest outsourced airfreight provider in the world with a fleet of more than 90 dedicated long-haul freighter aircraft. Over the past 15 years it has originated c.$10bn of aviation debt and has acquired and managed more than $9bn of aircraft assets.

Dublin-based lessor Genesis established ReGEN in 2023 to support the developing global aerospace supply chain challenges and to enhance the lessor's full life cycle strategy.

ReGEN, provides in-demand airframe and engine component solutions to the global airline and MRO markets and is a key part of Genesis’s full life cycle strategy. ReGEN works with customers across the globe, offering component support solutions, tailor-made to their needs.
