Running in parallel with Fiera Milano's sister fair in Milan-  miart - an international modern and contemporary art fair, this event provides a unique opportunity whereby VIPs, galleries and visitors will have access to a much broader audience across two continents and two fairs.

There is a transformation happening in the art world and this digital event and permanent platform is our commitment to evolve and provide the best service to our galleries, VIPs and visitors.

The first digital edition gives us an opportunity to continue to support and showcase our South African artists whilst connecting with international galleries, businesses and creatives.

Investec Cape Town Art Fair in-person edition

18 - 20 Feb
ICTAF 2022

In light of recent and ongoing events related to COVID-19, the ninth edition of the Investec Cape Town Art Fair will be held from 18- 20 February 2022.

As an event that brings together thousands of people from across the globe, we aim to provide an unforgettable experience of the highest quality, whilst keeping our participants and visitors safe. Unfortunately, due to certain developments, such as international travel restrictions, the second wave in certain countries and the consequent reinstatement of lockdown, we are left with no choice but to reschedule the in-person affair to 2022.

When you invest in art, you're investing in a community

Art for more than art's sake | Watch as Investec’s 2020 artworks are quite literally pulled apart, and donated to three charities: Ikamva Labantu, Lalela project and Songo.info- who all apply the power of art to develop creative thinking and self-expression.

Art is indeed a human investment. It enriches those who appreciate it, those who are able to invest in it, and those who are given the opportunity to cover their hands in paint and create it.

It has a value and a purpose far beyond wealth.

Studies have shown that art develops critical thinking ability in children—arguably one of the most valuable skills in the modern economy. Despite this, art is often the first subject to be dropped in schools where resources are stretched.

At Investec we believe that art can make a difference. That’s why, as lead sponsor of Cape Town Art Fair, we’ve handmade our campaign using over 15 000 individual art supplies—each one of which will be donated to art education initiatives.

Not a single supply is permanently fixed. All 15 224 pieces have been painstakingly hand-placed into a custom-made matrix, so as to preserve the integrity of the material.

After the art fair the installations will be disassembled, and every pencil and pot of paint will be delivered into the eager hands of a child at one of our charity partners: Lalela, Songo.info and Ikamva Labantu
