About me

I specialise in managing predominantly discretionary portfolios on behalf of private individuals, their pensions, trust, charities and private family unit trusts. I have a total return philosophy of both capital preservation and growth in real terms through global multi-asset class investment.

Background/Experience

Having begun my City career first as a Hull Insurance broker at Lloyd's of London in 1988, I moved into private client investment management over two decades ago, undertaking the full Securities Institute Diploma and associated qualifications. Since then I have been a fund manager at Ruffer LLP, before joining Singer & Friedlander to stabilise the investment management side. This business was taken over by Williams de Broe and then subsequently by Investec. Throughout this period I have used my experience to specialise in all aspects of private client investment management in times of both stress and calm in markets. I am a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and a Chartered Wealth Manager.

My interests

I am a charity trustee of both an educational charity and a City livery, both with grant making obligations. As well as being an active supporter of a number of military associations, I am also involved in charitable events raising awareness for cures to certain medical conditions.
