About me

My focus is on looking after private clients and creating financial solutions for their wealth. The interesting part of the job is that each client is unique and requires different types of solutions depending upon their circumstances. I manage private client portfolios and SIPP's, as well as charities and corporate accounts.  Each portfolio is constructed for the individual client and their specific financial requirements. I have recently constructed a number of income portfolios for clients, who need a higher yield from their savings.

Background/Experience

I started my career in the private client investment management industry in 1993, working at Williams De Broe for five years. This was a good grounding in learning to listen to what clients want from their savings. I then moved to Merrill Lynch in 1998, which was a very different experience working for an American bank. Here, I learned a great deal about different types of investing using options and structured products to gain market exposure. In 2004 I joined Rensburg Investment Management that later became Investec. The focus on clients' interests, and providing clients with financial solutions has kept my interest since and I was made an investment director in 2009. I hold the Diploma in Personal Financial Planning and I am a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (Chartered MCSI). In addition, I also hold a BSc (Hons.) degree in Agricultural Economics from Reading University.

My interests

I am married and have teenage girls. At the weekends, I captain one of the men's field hockey teams at Neston. My hobbies also include shooting and skiing. I also wish I could reduce the number of shots it takes me to get round a golf course.
