I am responsible for helping manage the financial affairs and assets of charities, entrepreneurs, professionals, private individuals, pensions, trusts and corporates. Understanding where a client is currently positioned, listening to what they are looking to achieve, formulating a strategy to achieve their objectives and consistently providing proactive advice and excellent service, all helps ensure client goals are being achieved successfully.
I have significant experience of working within the financial sector. Previous to Investec, I was an investment manager at Barclays in Edinburgh for 12 years, a portfolio manager at Macquarie Bank in London for four years, a fund manager at Merrill Lynch in both London and New York for five years, and a fund manager at Friends Provident for one year. My specialised experiences of being responsible for helping clients achieve their financial goals by providing a proactive and consistently high level service has been vital throughout my career. I hold a distinction designation for the Private Client Investment Advice & Management (PCIAM) examination, the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and a BA (Honours) degree from Napier University in Edinburgh.
I enjoy most sports and I am a director and member at the world’s 4th oldest golf club, Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society, having won the Club Championship for members with a handicap of eight and above. Additionally, I am also a Governor and Trustee of St Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh as well as a Trustee of the Dame Margot Fonteyn Scholarship Fund in London.
