Artificial intelligence, machine learning and digital automation are developing rapidly and are increasingly disrupting the way we do things. In a science fiction-like reality where algorithms are replacing warm bodies on desks, cars are driving themselves and busy production factories are carrying on without a person in sight, many people worry about the future and what it means for humans. With the shift to automation and the disruption of many industries, it is uncertain what careers will exist in the future. So how then can we be sure that the education our children are receiving today will set them up for success in this uncertain future.
Investec in partnership with Sameer Rawjee, founder of Google’s Life Design Lab and MD of the O School, embarked on a schools’ road trip to engage with teachers, parents and learners about the future of work and the shifts that need to start happening in education today.
The future is not something that happens to us, it’s something we create.
