Investec supported Platform Investment Partners Proprietary Limited ("PIP") through a tailored capital solution to advance Platform Telco Proprietary Limited’s (“Platform Telco”) growth strategy.
Through the combined capabilities of Investec South Africa's Principal Investments, Family Office Partners and Leveraged Finance teams, Investec provided an equity investment, facilitated third-party capital raising and delivered debt funding to underlying platform assets. This reflects our deep sector expertise and One Investec approach in supporting our clients’ growth ambitions.
Transaction overview
Platform Telco is a newly established investment platform focused on acquiring and growing businesses that form part of South Africa's critical digital infrastructure ecosystem. The platform currently holds interests in Myriad, Vumacam and Comsol Networks, businesses operating across fibre connectivity, smart surveillance infrastructure and wholesale 5G fixed-wireless connectivity.
The transaction supports the continued expansion of connectivity infrastructure across South Africa, enabling broader access to high-speed broadband, advanced surveillance networks and the future of telecommunications services. Through its investment in Platform Telco, Investec supports the infrastructure and partnerships that will help expand economic participation and contribute to the growth of South Africa's digital economy.
