The borrower
A senior city professional wanted to borrow £7m to purchase a new family home in North West London.
The challenge
The client worked for an American firm and was paid in dollars. In addition, he received a significant income from profit shares that varied with performance and were distributed at irregular intervals.
This income structure and currency exposure needed to be considered when determining his ability to make long-term repayments.
The solution
Investec supports many high-net-worth clients who have variable or foreign currency income. In his case, we were able to take a holistic view of the client’s career history and current performance to agree an appropriate loan amount.
The client was offered a 70% LTV interest-only facility on a 25-year term.
