Case study: High LTV mortgage for city professional

Investec provided a successful lawyer with a high LTV mortgage to purchase a new home.

The borrower

The client was a full equity partner at a leading global law firm. They were seeking to purchase a new home after a lengthy search.

The problem

The client had only recently been made a full equity partner and while her current earnings were strong, she had not had sufficient time to build up a substantial deposit. The client’s post completion liquidity was also low.

In addition, the client had a number of aborted offers on properties and had taken many months to secure the right home. She needed a lender that could work efficiently to update and process her application.

The solution

The solution we were able to offer the client was an initial high LTV of 90%. The mortgage was provided on a capital and interest basis on a lifetime tracker rate for a 25-year period. The client was able to secure a Grade-II listed, three-bedroom home in Berkshire, which she loved.
