The borrower
A broker approached Investec to support a high-net-worth client who was looking to purchase a three-bedroom home in Berkshire for £1.4m. The client was a partner at a law firm.
The problem
The client was a first-time buyer looking for a high LTV mortgage. The client’s income structure was complex and included a salary that had recently increased after a promotion to equity partner, along with profit distributions. The client had a low deposit and this needed to be considered to give an appropriate view of affordability.
The solution
When looking at the client’s overall income and demonstration of earning trajectory, Investec was able to provide a 90% LTV mortgage for the client’s home for a 25-year term. The interest rate was fixed for two years.
At Investec, we regularly provide mortgages for individuals with a complex income structure, including legal professionals.
