Investec case study: SPV structure for a buy-to-let property in London

Investec Mortgage Intermediaries team

Investec has helped a number of investors to purchase a buy-to-let property as a limited company or Special Purpose Vehicle.

The client

A broker recently introduced us to a client who was looking to purchase a £2m buy-to-let property in South West London. The client was a Private Banker with a complex income structure.

The challenge

The client needed to purchase the buy-to-let as part of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), which requires specialist knowledge of tax and legal restrictions. Along with a complex income structure made up of salary, bonus and stock, the client had assets in both sterling and foreign currency denominations.

The solution

As specialists in bespoke high-net-worth Private Banking solutions, we were able to offer the client a 70% LTV mortgage and a personalised SPV structure to suit the client. The property was purchased on a five-year term with a five-year fixed interest rate.
