Our role
Investec acted as financial advisor and transaction sponsor to Shoprite, one of Africa’s leading retailers, in an all-cash acquisition of the Cambridge Food, Rhino Cash and Carry, Massfresh and selected Masscash Cash and Carry assets from Massmart, for a maximum consideration of R1.4 billion. Shoprite considers the transaction an ideal opportunity to utilise its operational capabilities to benefit these businesses and its customers, staff, suppliers and shareholders.
