Funding Sustainable Power Solutions' Projects in South Africa and Namibia
Our role
Investec provided long-standing client Sustainable Power Solutions with a long-term funding solution for a portfolio of operating embedded generation solar and battery assets. Alongside the term funding solution, Investec provided a further revolving credit facility that our client will utilise to part fund the construction of additional embedded power solutions.
Investec's Energy and Infrastructure Finance team worked closely with our Treasury Sales and Structuring team to formulate a hedging strategy for our client.
About Sustainable Power Solutions
Sustainable Power Solutions (SPS) is a leading asset management company specializing in the funding, design, construction and operation of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage plants for private off-takers, ranging in size from 500 kWp to 100MWp.
To date, SPS has commissioned more than 300 solar and battery storage projects, with over 128 MWp of solar PV and 36 MWh of battery storage projects in the commercial and industrial sector across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a total of 74.8MW of commissioned and owned capacity.
The company offers grid-connected, hybrid (solar/genset) and off-grid (storage) solar PV solutions.
