Our role

In December 2025, Investec Bank Limited advanced a senior secured term loan to Global Airways Limited to finance an Airbus A320‑200 aircraft. The aircraft operates internationally on ACMI (wet‑lease) contracts and, during off‑peak periods, supports scheduled airline services for LIFT - Global’s South African domestic carrier.

Investec advanced a master loan facility to support Global Airways’ future fleet requirements, providing a scalable and tailored funding solution designed to grow alongside the airline’s operational needs.

The ability to deploy aircraft between South Africa and Europe is one of the core strategic differentiators of the Global Airways model.  This enables Global Airways to optimize fleet capacity across seasons, match aircraft to demand in real time, and maintain strong year-round utilization.

This transaction was executed through close collaboration between Investec’s  Treasury Sales and Structuring  for Interest Rate Swap, and Business Transactional Banking for opening FCA accounts.
