The Multi-Asset Sales and Structuring (MASS) team sets out to provide solutions for institutional investors such as pension funds, insurers, collective investment schemes (CIS), and hedge funds that seek to obtain various exposures, outperform their benchmarks, add enhancement strategies or obtain protection against market downturns and extreme events, by packaging and delivering the required payoffs in innovative and bespoke products.

Through a combination of the different building blocks available across asset classes, Investec offers solutions for portable alpha strategies. The expansion of Investec’s fund-linked capabilities provides opportunities to include enhanced participation on CIS funds in notes. Capital protected notes not only offer protection but also enhanced returns and can be linked to the performance of any asset, such as gold, other precious metals or USD/ZAR or local and offshore indices. Outperformance Notes offer fixed outperformance to offshore indices such as MSCI World Net Total Return and can be further yield enhanced by adding a credit reference, such as SA Government USD Debt.

Each of the contributors to this multi-asset initiative is part of a team within Investec that specializes in a specific asset class, e.g. Commodities, Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income and Credit, etc.
