I am an equity analyst covering the SA mining stocks and the Head of Research at Investec Securities. I hold a BSc degree in Chemical engineering (Cum Laude), an MBA from the University of Cape Town, and PLD (Harvard). I have hands-on mining experience, having worked for Implats and De Beers Consolidated Mines for 11 years prior to joining Investec Securities.
 
In 2019, I received the ABSIP analyst of the year award and my research continues to be highly ranked by clients.

I studied at the University of Cape Town, completing a BBusSc (Honours) degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting. I served my accounting articles at KPMG in Johannesburg and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

I obtained my CFA charter in 2003. I worked at Investec Securities as an investment analyst since 1999 in Johannesburg, London, and now Cape Town.

I have been an Investment Strategist with JP Morgan and Avior Capital Markets prior to joining Investec.

I try to distill the global and domestic political and macroeconomic backdrop, concentrating on its implications for EM FX, rates, equity sector trends, and stocks, in search of the next economic miracle.

I have ranked among the top three South African investment strategists in various surveys, including Institutional Investor, and Financial mail over the past five years.

Before joining Investec in October 2024, I worked for Anchor Stockbrokers, covering diversified financials and pharmacy retailers while also contributing to South African listed property coverage.

I graduated with a BSc Honours degree in Civil Engineering (Cum Laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2021 and have passed all three levels of the CFA Program.

I am a fellow of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation after spending four years in the Candidate Fellow program. Additionally, I was jointly ranked 1st in the Financial Mail’s “Ranking the Analysts Survey” for General Financials.

I lead the coverage of African telecoms at Investec. I started on the sell side in 2014, covering listed African and emerging market telecoms (Russia, Turkey and Latam) having previously worked at Absa (previously Barclays Africa). I successfully executed on some of the biggest African telecoms IPOs (Optasia, Cell C, Airtel Africa and IHS Holdings).Top 3 ranking achieved in the 2021 Financial Mail (“Ranking the Analysts” Survey) for listed SA telecoms.
 
Previous work experience includes Stanlib Asset Management and Deloitte SA and USA. My qualifications include CA(SA), BAccSci and HDipAcc from the University of the Witwatersrand.

I joined Investec Securities in 2022 and lead the Corporate Access function for the Equity Research team. I bring almost two decades of experience in investor engagement and corporate access to the table, connecting equity research with institutional investors and corporate clients. I previously held roles in corporate access and research marketing at J.P. Morgan, and worked within the Institutional Business division at Stanlib Asset Management. I have completed studies in Data Analysis from the University of Cape Town, and Marketing & Events through Damelin College, and continues to deepen my knowledge of and expertise in investor relations.

I'm a research analyst at Investec Securities covering the real estate sector. I'm a qualified Chartered Accountant CA (SA) and hold a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from Stellenbosch University.

I began my career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2003 and moved to Nedbank Securities in 2007 as an equity research analyst covering general financials, real estate, and banks (I did my banks coverage jointly). Thereafter I joined Mazi Macquarie Securities focusing on the real estate sector from 2014 to 2019. During 2018 and 2019 I was ranked as the top Real Estate analyst in the “Financial Mail Ranking the Analysts Survey”.

I am an equity analyst covering listed African mining stocks in emerging and frontier markets. Prior to joining the research team in February 2024, I was a quantitative analyst at Investec and was recognised as one of the Mail & Guardian’s “Top 200 Young South Africans”. As a Mandela-Rhodes scholar and One Young World ambassador, I hold a Master of Commerce in Risk Management of Financial Markets, an honours degree in Public Policy, and a BSc in Mathematics and Politics from the University of Cape Town.

I have over a decade of experience covering the mining and basic materials sectors. I began my career in South Africa, covering precious metals for Deutsche Bank, before relocating to London in 2020 with another international bank and broadening my coverage to South African diversified miners, European steel producers, and paper & packaging companies.
 
I joined Investec in 2025, where I now cover the major global mining companies dual-listed in the UK and South Africa. I am both a CFA charterholder and a Chartered Accountant (SA); as well as an alumnus of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation.

I am the commodities consultant to the Investec mining team. I have worked for investment banks in Australia, the UK, and South Africa, namely ANZ Bank, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and, since 2014, Investec Bank. I have also been a senior associate consultant for Wood Mackenzie, a leading commodity research house. I cover base and precious metals, steel and steelmaking raw materials, and energy markets  I have a BA (Honours) in Modern History and a PhD In Economic History from the University of London, am a Royal Historical Society fellow, and have been a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy for 38 years.

I began my equity analyst career at J.P. Morgan in 2013, initially working on a team covering SA Healthcare and Chemicals, followed by sole coverage on General Industrials, Paper and Property. In 2022 I began covering Banks until my move to Investec in Sep-22.

I studied Finance and Accounting at UCT (B.Bus.Sc Finance Hons and PGDA), after which I qualified as a CA (SA) and CFA charter holder.

I am an equity analyst who leads coverage of the insurance sector at Investec. I previously worked at two multinational banks and a local bank as an equity analyst. My coverage experience includes retail, food producers, and industrial sectors since 2015. I am a CFA charterholder and hold a BSc Honours degree in Computational & Applied Mathematics from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits).
