I hold a BSc degree in Chemical engineering (Cum Laude), an MBA from the University of Cape Town, and PLD (Harvard). I have hands-on mining experience, having worked for Implats and De Beers Consolidated Mines for 11 years prior to joining Investec Securities.
 
In 2019, I received the ABSIP analyst of the year award and my research continues to be highly ranked by clients.

I graduated with a BSc Honours degree in Civil Engineering (Cum Laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2021 and have passed all three levels of the CFA Program.

I am a fellow of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation after spending four years in the Candidate Fellow program. Additionally, I was jointly ranked 1st in the Financial Mail’s “Ranking the Analysts Survey” for General Financials.

I began my career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2003 and moved to Nedbank Securities in 2007 as an equity research analyst covering general financials, real estate, and banks (I did my banks coverage jointly). Thereafter I joined Mazi Macquarie Securities focusing on the real estate sector from 2014 to 2019. During 2018 and 2019 I was ranked as the top Real Estate analyst in the “Financial Mail Ranking the Analysts Survey”.

As a Mandela-Rhodes scholar and One Young World ambassador, I hold a Master of Commerce in Risk Management of Financial Markets, an honours degree in Public Policy, and a BSc in Mathematics and Politics from the University of Cape Town.

I joined Investec in 2025, where I now cover the major global mining companies dual-listed in the UK and South Africa. I am both a CFA charterholder and a Chartered Accountant (SA); as well as an alumnus of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation.

I have also been a senior associate consultant for Wood Mackenzie, a leading commodity research house. I cover base and precious metals, steel and steelmaking raw materials, and energy markets  I have a BA (Honours) in Modern History and a PhD In Economic History from the University of London, am a Royal Historical Society fellow, and have been a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy for 38 years.
